Your health and cycle information
We only use your health and cycle details with your explicit permission, and only to personalise Female Fuel for you. Under UK data protection law, information about your health, including your cycle, allergies and intolerances, is “special category data”, so we treat it with extra care.
- What we use it for: to tailor your nutrition targets, explain things like hunger, cravings and weight shifts, and avoid suggesting foods you can’t eat.
- How we ask: we ask for your explicit consent in the app before you add any health or cycle details.
- Changing your mind: you can withdraw your consent at any time by removing these details in your settings. This won’t affect anything we did with your consent before you withdrew it.
- What we never do: we never sell your health information, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone other than the service providers who help us run the app.

Our AI features
Female Fuel uses AI to analyse food photos and text you log, power the AI coach, create meal plans and recipes, and calculate your Fuel Score. To do this, the relevant information is sent securely to our AI provider, [AI provider name], which processes it on our behalf.
- We only send what’s needed for the feature you’re using.
- [Our AI provider does not use your information to train its models. / Confirm with your provider and update this line.]
- AI suggestions and Fuel Scores are for general guidance only. They are not medical advice and aren’t a substitute for a doctor, dietitian or other healthcare professional.
- AI can sometimes get things wrong, so please check anything important, especially around allergies.
Information stored outside the UK
Some of our providers may store or process your information outside the UK, for example in the US or the European Economic Area. When this happens, we make sure it’s protected by approved safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision, so it gets the same level of protection as in the UK.
How long we keep your information
We keep your information only for as long as we need it.
- Your account and app data: for as long as your account is open. If you delete your account, we delete your data within [30] days, except anything we must keep by law.
- Inactive accounts: if you don’t use Female Fuel for [2 years], we’ll email you before deleting your account.
- Waitlist emails: until the app launches and you’ve had your launch email, or until you unsubscribe.
- Records we must keep: such as subscription and tax records, for as long as the law requires, usually up to 6 years.
Your rights
It’s your information, and you’re in control of it. Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- See your information: ask for a copy of what we hold about you.
- Take it with you: download your data using the export option in the app’s privacy settings.
- Correct it: update anything that’s wrong, most of which you can do in the app.
- Delete it: delete your account and data from the app’s settings, or by emailing us.
- Withdraw consent: for health and cycle details or marketing emails, at any time.

To use any of these rights, email contact@femalefuelapp.co.uk. We’ll reply within one month, and it’s free.
Keeping your information safe
We use security measures such as encryption, secure servers and restricted access to protect your information. Only people and providers who need your information to run Female Fuel can access it. No system is ever completely risk-free, but if a serious data breach ever affected you, we’d tell you and the ICO as the law requires.
